Reasons the product is recalled
The hot water bottles did not have the full mandatory warning or instructions marked on the product packaging as specified in the Trade Practices (Consumer Product Safety Standard) (Hot Water Bottles) Regulations 2008. Additionally, the warning message, “Do not use boiling water” was not permanently marked on the bottle.
The hazards to consumers
Due to incorrect labelling and the lack of mandatory cautionary markings on the bottle, consumers could misuse the product and suffer serious burns as a result.
What consumers should do
Consumers should cease using this product immediately and return it to the place of purchase to obtain a full refund.
