Reasons the product is recalled
The metal snap hook on the Tether Extension strap may deform under load (as may be experienced in a collision). This is due to incorrect hardening of the metal parts.
The hazards to consumers
If the metal snap hook deforms in the event of a collision, the performance of the car restraint may be reduced, increasing the risk of injury to the child.
What consumers should do
The Tether Extension strap should be replaced as soon as possible. Consumers should check the batch number on the strap (number is on a white label underneath the label marked WARNING) and if affected, contact Hemco on 1300 065 057 to arrange a replacement Tether Extension strap.
