See a list of details to help identify the product
Reason the product is recalled
Some battery packs, manufactured by Panasonic for Sony, which are supplied with these products are in a batch that has the possibility to overheat due to a manufacturing issue.
The hazards to consumers
If the battery overheats, this poses a potential fire and burn hazard to consumers.
What consumers should do
Check the battery Serial Number at the Sony Australia website (http://www.sony.com.au/support/announcement/610886) to determine if it is in the batch in question. If so, cease using the battery and only use the PC on AC power via its supplied adaptor. Contact Sony to arrange a replacement battery.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have previously checked your battery pack serial number in response to the initial announcement of March, you are still required to RE-CHECK if your battery pack is affected by this current issue.
