Identifying features

Service numbers 124231XX to 143231XX.

What are the defects?

In rare circumstances, if a potentially affected Thermomix TM31 is operated at high RPMs, (ie at a high speed of four or above) and then is immediately switched to the ‘lid open’ position, there is a possibility that liquid or food may splash out of the mixing bowl.

What are the hazards?

In rare circumstances, the potential product defect could lead to a scald or burn for the user if liquid or food splashes out of the mixing bowl.

What should consumers do?

Vorwerk has advised that customers can continue to safely use any potentially affected appliances, by following these simple instructions:

Operating Instructions:
1. After using speeds of level 4 or above, turn the speed selector down to level 1.
2. Leave the speed selector on level 1 for three seconds.
3. Turn the speed selector to 'open lid' and carefully open the lid.

Vorwerk will be replacing the sealing ring of the mixing bowl of all potentially affected TM31 appliances for Australian customers. The new sealing ring will eliminate any identified potential risk. The first batch of sealing rings is expected to arrive in Australia within the next three weeks, with all affected Australian customers receiving their replacement seals by mid-November.
