Reasons the product is recalled
The hazards to consumers
What consumers should do
Owners of affected vehicles should contact their local Honda dealership or Honda Australia directly via the website https://www.honda.com.au/recall.html to arrange for a replacement airbag inflator free of charge.
Consumers who are unsure whether they are affected can also use Honda Australia’s VIN look-up tool at http://www.honda.com.au/airbag or contact Honda on 1800 789 839 (Mon-Fri 8am-8pm; Sat 9am-5pm AEST) or contact their preferred Honda dealer.
Alternatively, consumers can use their registration plate number to check if their vehicle is affected by going to https://www.honda.com.au/recall.html
If your vehicle is fitted with a ‘critical’ airbag inflator it is imperative that you take immediate steps to have the airbag inflator replaced due to the significant risk of injury or death if there is a misdeployment in the event of an accident. It is strongly recommended that owners of these vehicles stop driving their vehicles immediately. Honda Australia can arrange for a qualified technician to travel to you and repair on site (free of charge) or organise a free tow to your preferred Honda dealer, so that you do not have to drive your vehicle to be fixed if you do not want to.
We also recommend you subscribe to receive updates about current and future recalls as they are published, with further information for consumers available at: https://www.productsafety.gov.au/recalls/compulsory-takata-airbag-recal…;
