What are the defects?
Steel toe cap may be missing in some boots.
What are the hazards?
If the steel cap is missing, the boots will not protect the toes from being crushed by heavy objects landing on the foot.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should inspect their boots to check if they have the steel toe caps. This can be done by pressing down on the ribbed toe guard at the front of each boot. If the steel cap is absent, the toe of the boot will compress. If the steel cap is missing, contact Mayo Hardware to arrange for the boots to be returned and replaced.
