Reasons the product is recalled
The labelling of foods containing oats as being ‘gluten-free’ is specifically prohibited by the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. Although oats do not contain gluten as such, other proteins, which can act in the human gut in ways similar to gluten, are present in oats. Such proteins can cause a reaction in sufferers of coeliac disease which is similar to that caused by gluten.

Any consumers who suffer from coeliac disease may have a reaction if the product is consumed.
What consumers should do
Consumers who suffer from coeliac disease should not consume this product and should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
