What are the defects?
Overheating of the battery cell may occur.

The battery in the product may overheat, posing a potential fire/burn hazard.
What should consumers do?
Samsung Galaxy Note7 devices were originally supplied between 19 August and 1 September 2016. Replacement Galaxy Note7 devices were supplied between 21 September and 11 October 2016.
Samsung Electronics Australia advises all customers who use a Galaxy Note7 smartphone, including those Galaxy Note7 smartphones that have been provided as a replacement, to power down their device, return it to its place of purchase and use an alternative device until a remedy can be provided.
Customers who have purchased a Galaxy Note7 or were supplied a replacement Galaxy Note7 from Samsung are entitled to choose an exchange or a full refund.
Customers who have purchased a Galaxy Note7 or were provided a replacement Galaxy Note7 by a place of purchase other than Samsung should approach their place of purchase to discuss their remedy options.
Galaxy Note7 smartphone owners can visit the place of purchase of their device or call Samsung Customer Service on 1300 362 603.
