A fault that can create excessive heat in the power cord has been reported in some of these models.

Consumers are advised to unplug their vacuum cleaner at the wall and not to use again until it has been repaired.

Consumers are advised to register their details at www.sharkrecall.com.au or contact the Shark Hot Line 1800 722 222 to make arrangements to have the cord and plug replaced free of charge at an authorised Shark Service Centre.

• The Shark Navigator Lift-Away (model number NV350NZ) units manufactured prior to 18 October 2014 (selected models only - see affected batch number list)

• All Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional (model number NV356NZ) units.

The affected Shark products were sold through the TV Shop and electrical retailers.
