Reasons the product is recalled
Product labelling on the outer cardboard packaging is not compliant with the relevant mandatory safety standard. Inner labels and instructions for use are compliant with the requirements of the mandatory standard.
The hazards to consumers
Absence of warnings or inconsistent information in labelling could result in the strap being used in an unsafe manner or the incorrect recovery kit being purchased.
What consumers should do
Consumers should remove and discard the outer cardboard packaging of the product. Inner labels and instructions are correct.
Consumers who have purchased a recovery kit and believe they were not correctly informed of the breaking strength of the snatch strap, resulting in the snatch strap not suiting their needs, can return the complete kit to any TJM store for a replacement or full refund. A proof of purchase between February and December 2016 will be required.
