What are the defects?
In rare cases, rust and corrosion may affect the bottom of the can, potentially causing the can to suddenly and violently burst.
What are the hazards?
If the defect occurs, a consumer may be injured by the rapid and violent expulsion of the contents of the can, or by the physical movement of the failed can.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should check the batch number of their can and If their product is an affected product, they should immediately stop using the product and carefully dispose of the product as follows.
Take the can outdoors to a well-ventilated area. We recommend use of protective clothing, including gloves, safety/sun glasses, and long sleeves/coveralls.
At arm’s length, gently turn the can upside down ensuring that the bottom of the can is always pointing away from any person.
With one hand holding the can upside down and with the nozzle pointing away from any person, use your other hand to discharge the gas for 30 seconds or until you can no longer hear a hissing sound.
Take a photo of the can ensuring that the batch number is visible.
Replace the cap and carefully dispose of the can by wrapping it in newspaper, placing in a plastic bag and then into the household rubbish.
