Reason the product is recalled
The tightening of the seat collar over the frame of affected bicycles may cause the seatpost to crack, fatigue and possibly break.
The hazards to consumers
If the defect occurs, this may pose a fall hazard to the rider.
What consumers should do
Consumers with an affected bicycle should stop using their bicycle and take it to a Trek retailer. The seatpost will be replaced free of charge. The consumer will also receive a coupon (no cash value) toward Bontrager products to be used at the time of seatpost replacement.
