Reason the product is recalled
The product does not comply with the labeling requirements of Consumer Protection Notice No. 2 of 2009 - Consumer Product Safety Standard: Flotation Toys and Aquatic Toys because it is not marked with the required warnings. The regulation requires aquatic toys, such as pool noodles, to be permanently marked with the following warning in a contrasting colour: WARNING - AQUATIC TOY- USE ONLY UNDER SUPERVISION.
The hazards to consumers
If parents do not properly supervise children whilst they are using the product, there is an increased risk that drowning may occur.
What consumers should do
Immediately cease use of the pool noodle and return it to any ALDI Store for a full refund.
