Reason the product is recalled
The defect is possible cracking of the plastic fuel tank.
The hazards to consumers
The fuel tank may crack allowing fuel to leak into the enclosed hull of the personal watercraft, which could lead to a fire hazard.
What consumers should do
This recall campaign has been announced in two stages. The first stage was an inspection only and, if necessary, tank would be replaced with pre-countermeasure tank, until C/M tank became available.
The second stage is fitting of the new countermeasure tank. The new tank is now available and all units will need to be inspected and, if required, have a new tank fitted, even if a pre-countermeasure tank has already been fitted.
Do not use your personal watercraft until it has been inspected and, if necessary, repaired by an authorised Honda Dealer.
