Reason the product is recalled
The dye used during the manufacturing of the pocket lining of these jeans may have contained hazardous azo-colourants.
The hazards to consumers
Expert authorities classify these azo-colourants as carcinogens and recommend that exposure is minimised. While these dyes are not banned for textile use within Australia, Jeanswest is initiating this action as it does not meet our strict quality assurance standards.
What consumers should do
Customers should cease using the product and return it to a Jeanswest store to obtain a full refund of the purchase price. For more information, please contact Jeanswest on 1800 888 759 or via the Jeanswest website http://www.jeanswest.com.au/contacts
