Reason the product is recalled
(a) the foot end of the bed has a raised edge only – a guardrail is necessary to prevent the likelihood of a child rolling out of the bed or slipping down between the bed and a wall and being trapped by his/her head; (b) the width of the stair access is too wide by approximately 6030 mm (it must have a minimum width of 300 mm and a maximum of 400 mm) – the purpose of the prescribed width is to prevent a child from rolling or falling out of the bed;(c) the gap between the guardrails is too substantial as it allows the passage of a 95 mm diameter probe – the purpose of a prescribed gap width of less 95 mm is to prevent a child from slipping between the gaps and potentially trapping or strangling himself/herself; and (d) the maximum mattress height and importer’s name and address were not marked on the bunk beds.
