Reason the product is recalled

The metal connecting hooks at either end of the Hemco Adjustable Tether Strap may deform or break under load stress (as may be experienced in a collision). This is due to inadequate heat tempering/hardening of the metal parts.

The hazards to consumers

If the metal connecting hooks fail in the event of a collision, the performance of the car restraint may be impacted, increasing the risk of injury to the child.

What consumers should do

The tether strap should be replaced as soon as possible. Check the Batch No. on the Hemco Extension Tether and if affected contact the supplier who will arrange a replacement tether strap.
