Reason the product is recalled
Batches 022 and 023 of the tether anchor bracket are faulty. The tether anchor bracket connects the car restraint tether strap to the car anchorage bolt.
The hazards to consumers
If the tether anchor bracket fails in the event of a collision, the performance of the car restraint may be impacted, increasing the risk of injury to the child.
What consumers should do
If you have fitted the tether anchor bracket assembly to your vehicle you should check the batch number stamped on it. If the batch number is "022" or "023", cease using the tether anchor immediately. Contact Hemco Industries by phone on 1300 065 057 or email service@hemco.com.au to arrange to receive a replacement tether anchor kit.
