Reason the product is recalled

The conductive parts of the enclosure may not be effectively earthed, as the earth cable supplied in the meter boxes was not manufactured to specifications and is not compliant to standards.

The hazards to consumers

This could result in a potential electric shock if a live wire were to come into contact with the enclosure.

What consumers should do

If consumers have had a Clipsal meter box installed at their home or premises, that was purchased between 18th April 2016 and 17 August 2016, they may have an affected product installed. Consumers should contact Clipsal on 1300 369 233 for further instructions.
