Reason the product is recalled
In rare instances, the clip on the DC05 Motorhead wand handle has been found to crack and this can cause the hose to become detached resulting in electrical connections being exposed.
The hazards to consumers
If these connections are touched, while the machine is plugged in, there is a risk of electrical shock and/or burn.
What consumers should do
Unplug their machine. Check that the hose is securely attached. If it is loose or detached do not operate the machine and contact Dyson Appliances (Aust) Pty Ltd on 1800 275 397 immediately.
If the hose is firmly attached, there is no immediate risk. Contact Dyson Appliances (Aust) Pty Ltd to receive a reinforcing cuff to prevent hose detachment.
