Reason the product is recalled

If the disc brake rotor experiences a rapid change in temperature, such as during high speed braking in motorsports or similar extreme driving conditions, the rotor may fracture and separate, which may result in brake failure.

The hazards to consumers

If the disc brake rotor fractures, the brake may not function correctly and may fail, posing an accident or injury risk to the vehicle occupants and other road users.

What consumers should do

If your vehicle is potentially affected by this issue, do not drive in motorsports events or track days until the part has been inspected and replaced if it is from the affected batch.

Owners of potentially affected vehicles should arrange to check the rotor number of their disc brake rotors. If the rotor is from the affected DBA4418 batch, the rotor should be replaced. Cost of replacement will be reimbursed by DBA when the replaced rotors are returned to DBA.

Instructions for checking the rotor number can be found at https://dba.com.au/home-welcome/dba4418s-mitsubishi-lancer-evolution-product-recall-information/
