Accessible parts may not be effectively earthed.

The hazards to consumers

Spills around the control panel and dials can leak into the electrical components. This may cause an electric shock to the user that can result in severe injury or electrocution.

What consumers should do

Check the model and serial number on the back of your cooktop’s User Guide to determine whether your cooktop is recalled (as shown in the the picture 'How to identify the cooktop's model and serial number' attached above).

If you are in doubt or if you don’t have a User Guide, contact Fisher & Paykel to confirm whether your cooktop is recalled and to book a free repair for recalled cooktops.

If your cooktop is recalled and a spill on your cooktop has reached the control panel or dials, immediately turn off the power supply to the cooktop and do not use it until repaired.
