A suspected small number of diodes used in the affected batch are presumed faulty.

The hazards to consumers

When the faulty diodes fail, they may damage the circuit board (a few may also char the double insulation). This could make the lamps unsafe if someone handles them while attempting to replace them with the electricity switched on.

What consumers should do

The product batch no. was only sold to one retailer (Eco Prime Pty Ltd) sale occurred on 30/11/2009 quantity 250 units. Energy Saving Devices Australia Pty Ltd will organise replacement adapters. Users are warned to turn the lights off before replacing them
