The product was distributed in Australia and manufactured from May 2007. The toys were sold at major retailers and independent toy retailers in Australia. The only product number affected in this recall is: L5987.

Reason the product is recalled

Small pieces of the tap or clock hands pose a choking hazard to children if liberated from the kitchen unit.

What consumers should do

Consumers should immediately take the recalled toy away from children. There are three ways to contact Mattel to determine if your product is affected: Visit Mattel's website at www.service.mattel.com and click through to Australia; Email Mattel via - infoaust@mattel.com; or call Mattel Australia on 1800 674 753 between Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (Aust EDST). Consumers may either: Return the recalled product to Mattel at Mattel's expense. Consumers will then be issue with a refund to the value of the recalled product; or Consumers can contact Mattel to receive a replacement parts kit. The replacement parts kit will come with specific instructions for removing the clock and existing tap, including a tool for removing the tap. Consumers will receive a replacement tap and clock. Recalled products must not be returned to retail stores.
