Damaged cables in some of the lamps have been found. Damaged cables can lead to the metal body of the lamp becoming electrically live and thereby creating a safety hazard.
The hazards to consumers
IKEA is recalling all GOTHEM floor and table lamps due to the risk of electric shock.
What consumers should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the lamp and return it to any IKEA store for a full refund.
Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required.
