Reason the product is recalled
When the vehicle is driven, the wiring harness may come in contact with the bottom of the radiator and wear through the outer protective sleeve.
The hazards to consumers
The defect may cause an earthing point, preventing the wiring system from functioning correctly and resulting in the alternator dash light coming on and the battery going flat. In extreme cases the wiring harness may melt internally.
What consumers should do
A letter is being sent to affected customers advising them to contact their authorised GWM dealer and make an appointment for their vehicles to be inspected.
