Reason the product is recalled
A limited number of ICON binnacle mount remote control levers may be incorrectly assembled. The result is that the levers may pull away from the remote control, resulting in loss of throttle and shift control.
The hazards to consumers
This situation may cause loss of boat control, which could lead to serious injuries or even death of the operator, passengers, or people nearby.
What consumers should do
Consumers should contact an authorized BRP Evinrude/Johnson dealer and make an appointment to have the control inspected and, if necessary, replaced. The dealer will perform this work at no charge to the consumer.
