The affected models have serial numbers beginning with YA342XXXXX through to YA724XXXXX.

Reason the product is recalled

The handle on the kettle may become loose or separate from the body of the kettle.

The hazards to consumers

If the handle detaches during use, a consumer could be scalded or burned. The defect has occurred and caused injuries to consumers.

What consumers should do

Check the model and serial number on bottom of your kettle as shown in the pictures above. If you have the affected kettle, or are in doubt, immediately stop using the kettle and call 1800 990 990 or visit https://kitchenaid.com.au/pages/product-safety-recall-kettle-form to arrange for a replacement of affected kettles.
