Reason the product is recalled

In some instances, the fabric around the harness adjuster mechanism may get caught in the mechanism, allowing the shoulder harnesses to loosen without lifting the harness adjuster.

The hazards to consumers

If the harness is loosened the child restraint is no longer effective in restraining the child in the event of an accident or sudden braking, increasing the risk of injury to the child.

What consumers should do

Customers need to identify if they have Euro A2 with a date of manufacture between 16 September 2014 to the 12 March 2015. Dorel will provide consumers with a free replacement trim for affected car seats. The old trim will be returned to Dorel and not the retailer.

As an interim solution, please ensure that the harness adjuster is free of any impediments when fitting a child into the restraint. For further information on identifying the date of manufacture please visit the IGC Dorel website www.maxi-cosi.com.au
