Reason the product is recalled

The flexible fuel return hose which runs from the fuel distribution block to the fuel injection pump may experience a crack at the end of the hose, which could allow a small leakage of diesel fuel.

The hazards to consumers

If left unattended, the fuel leak could potentially lead to a fire.

What consumers should do

Stop using the boat and return it to a Mercury dealer for rectification. The Mercury dealer will replace the fuel return hose with a hose that is not subject to the defect.
