Reason the product is recalled

The affected kickstand mounting plate welds may be faulty on some bicycles and the kickstand may fail if it overloaded.

Consumers may not be aware of the risks associated with the kickstand use or carrying a passenger on the rear section of the bicycle.

The hazards to consumers

Risk of serious injury or accident if a passenger on the rear seat section of the bicycle comes into contact with the bicycles moving parts.

Risk of injury and property damage if the kickstand fails while in use.

What consumers should do

Stop using affected bicycles and contact 99 Bikes to arrange for a frame inspection of your bicycle.

99 Bikes will repair and attach warning labels to affected bicycles. Some bikes may require replacement of the entire frame.
