Reason the product is recalled
In some battery packs, the two charging connections may have been reversed. (Note, however, that further assessment of test reports has revealed that the incident prompting the recall was an isolated case suspected to have occurred because the customer re-positioned the batteries in the unit.)
The hazards to consumers
If the unit short circuits, there is a high possibility that it will catch fire. (Note, however, that an audit of affected stock has revealed that the suspected fault seems to have occurred because the customer re-positioned the batteries in the unit.)
What consumers should do
As further assessment of test reports and a stock audit have indicated that the incident prompting the recall was an isolated case resulting from a customer re-positioning the batteries in the unit, consumers may continue to use the product. Consumers who are still concerned may return any Spartan branded batteries, or products containing Spartan branded batteries, to any EB Games store for a full refund of the original purchase price. No receipt is required.
