Reason the product is recalled

During an internal technical review, Smith & Wesson identified a condition that may exist with the sear supplied with some rifles that would allow the rifle to fire without the trigger being pulled. In the interest of consumer safety, we are initiating this recall to allow for the prompt inspection and, if necessary, the repair of each rifle.

The hazards to consumers

Any unintended discharge of a firearm could result in personal injury.

What consumers should do

Consumers should either visit the recall website at www.smith-wesson.com/wcsstore/SmWesson2/upload/other/Venture_Recall_Serials.pdf or call Frontier Arms on (08) 8373 2855 to determine if their rifles are being recalled.

If so, the consumer should stop using the rifle immediately and return the rifle to the place of purchase so that it can be inspected and, if necessary, repaired.
