Product description

Thule Sprint car roof mounted bike carrier, mounts to car roof racks and is used for the transportation of one bicycle by removing the bicycle front wheel and securing this to the bike carrier. The bicycle rear wheel is secured used the wheel cradle and strap incorporated into the bike carrier.

Reason the product is recalled

The clamping mechanism, which is intended to secure the bike fork to the carrier, may fail. This could lead to the bike not being properly secured to the bike carrier and the bike coming loose from the carrier during transport.

The hazards to consumers

If the clamping mechanism fails during use, this could lead to the bike not being properly secured to the bike carrier and the bike coming loose from the carrier, posing a hazard to the driver and other road users.

What consumers should do

Consumers should stop using the product immediately and return the bike carrier to the retailer from whom it was purchased to obtain a replacement bike carrier at no cost to the consumer.
