Reason the product is recalled
The ladders do not comply with the Australia / New Zealand standard for portable ladders, AS/NZS 1982.1:1996, for the rated loading capacity of 180kg as claimed.
The hazards to consumers
The load rating on the ladders is marked as 180kg instead of 120kg, which is their maximum safe loading. Using the ladders to support loads greater than 120kg may result in fall injuries.
What consumers should do
The ladder must not be used to support loads greater than 120kg. Consumers will be contacted by Brand Developers Limited to arrange for them to receive one of the following:
(a) a new rating label marked with the correct loading capacity (120kg), or
(b) a full refund of the purchase price, or
(c) a replacement ladder
For further information, contact the customer service centre on 1 800 075 437 during business hours.
