Reason the product is recalled

When the diffuser (lamp cover) is removed from the fan access to live parts is possible if the ceiling fan light is turned on.

The hazards to consumers

Risk of electric shock.

What consumers should do

DO NOT REMOVE the lamp cover. There is no need to remove the fan from ceiling. Consumers should register their product with the Mercator warranty department who will arrange for the installation of a safety cover by a qualified electrician at no cost to the consumer.
