Risks and injuries
Tinted headlight covers make a motor vehicle’s lighting less visible. This can put road users and pedestrians at risk of car accidents.
A car accident can cause serious internal injuries or brain injuries like concussion.
Products the ban applies to
A tinted headlight cover is a coloured panel placed in front of a motor vehicle’s headlights.
If a tinted headlight cover restricts over 15% of a headlight's beams, it reduces visibility of the car. This can impact the ability of other road users and pedestrians from seeing the car, as well as the ability of the driver to see.
