Reasons the product is recalled
In contravention of the mandatory safety standard for bean bags, the zip on the bag does not have a child-resistant slide fastener.
The hazards to consumers
The bag is not fitted with a child-resistant slide fastener and may therefore allow access to the polystyrene beans, which pose a potential choking hazard to young children.
What consumers should do
Remove the paper clip from the zip tag immediately to prevent children accessing the polystyrene beads.
Responsible regulator
Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is the responsible regulator for this recall.
