What consumers should do
Consumers who purchased a CALYPSO ceiling lamp between 1 August 2016 and 5 September 2018 should carefully remove the glass shade and check the manufacturing date stamp on the lamp. To find the date stamp, carefully pull out the moveable arm and remove the glass shade - see instructions attached below. If the date stamp is between 1625 and 1744, consumers should contact their nearest IKEA store to organise an electrician to be sent out to remove the faulty lamp and replace with a new lamp.
Consumers can also opt for a refund if they prefer.
