Why the product is recalled
The bunk bed does not comply with the mandatory Australian standard AS/NZS 4220:1994. The corner bed posts do not meet the safety standard requirement as they exceed the allowed 8mm protrusion height.
What the hazards are to consumers
Potential strangulation hazard if the child's clothes get caught on the protrusion.
What consumers should do
Consumers should stop using the top bunk bed immediately and arrange for replacement parts to be delivered free of charge. A letter will be sent to affected owners.
