Chubb Fire & Security Pty Ltd trading as Quell — Quell QPI9010 Dual Sensor Smoke Alarm
What are the defects?
In some products a yellow protective cap may have been left on one of the two smoke sensors during the manufacturing process.
What are the hazards?
The yellow protective cap compromises the smoke alarm's ability to detect smoke, which can increase the risk of injury and/or property damage in the event of a fire.
What should consumers do?
Consumers with a Quell QPI9010 Dual Sensor Smoke Alarm should inspect the alarm for the presence of a yellow cap, following the attached instructions.
If no yellow cap is present, consumers should reinstall the smoke alarm and no further action is needed.
If a yellow cap is present, consumers should contact Quell for further instructions and to receive a free replacement. Consumers should not attempt to take apart the alarm, open the casing, or otherwise remove the yellow cap themselves. Consumers should reinstall the smoke alarm and only return the affected smoke alarm after they receive and install the replacement.
Consumers can contact Quell toll-free on 1800 654 435 (Mon-Fri, 8.30am-5pm AEST) or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
