Identifying features

Other identifying numbers

Affected brakes are identifiable by the date code located at the rear of the brake arm. Affected brakes will have a date code between 01JUN14 and 26MAY17.

Reasons the product is recalled

There is a potential for the cable noodle anchor rivet to dislodge from the brake unit. This can cause one of the two brakes to fail.

The hazards to consumers

This would result in the loss of braking power for that individual brake, resulting in extended stopping distance or unexpected braking behaviour. This may pose an accident or injury risk to the rider.

What consumers should do

Consumers should stop using the bicycle and contact SRAM DSD on 03 9212 6100 to arrange a replacement product.
