Reason the product is recalled

IKEA has received reports of children falling down stairs when the locking mechanism of the PATRULL gate has unexpectedly opened, due to the catch not returning to the correct position, and the user not being aware of this.

The hazards to consumers

This poses a significant risk of injury for small children.

What consumers should do

Consumers who have PATRULL safety gates should immediately stop using them, and return them to any IKEA store for a full refund.
Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required for a full refund.
